Post-Gaza war: which future are expecting Palestinians?

The operation Cast Lead is over since 18th January 09 and it was in no case a “dirty war”. Gaza is the stronghold of Hamas, a terrorist organization in which “Charta-Statement” is demanded the complete destruction of Israel, the Jewish State. Gaza is neither Grozny, nor the target of a neo imperialistic project of conquest; and Gaza has never been an “open-air lager”, victim of an humanitarian disaster caused by a ruthless Israel. Gaza is one of the outposts of the radical-islamic ideological combination based on the destruction of culture and values of free democratic Western. Hamas and co. have turned that piece of 140 sq mi land in one of the last tragic news (with Hizb'allah and Iran) of this millennium. An area in which the all day reality is being based on spreading of an unbelievable/absurd hate-doctrine against Jews and the West, a frantic pseudo-religious cult transmitted in schools, in order to build up the martyrdom generations of the future, the “struggle” of terrorists to kill innocent civilians firing daily dozens of rockets and mortar shells for years and a young guy named Gilad Shalit kept captive since 2006 who not even the IRC could visit. This is the truth that has been consciously or not underestimated and concealed by medias, too busy to propose anti-Israeli scoops (sometimes characterized by a latent anti-Semitism) full of ridiculous lies; this is the truth which the filo-arab U.N. never considered worthy of a minimal resolution or at least a verbal admonition. At the very last moment, while the world was expecting the infamous news "Gaza reoccupied by Zionists," Jerusalem wisely decided unilaterally to cease the fire, to build a field hospital to treat civilians wounded in Gaza (in the hospitals of the strip were circulating strange doctors armed with Kalashnikov) and go back to the other side of the border-fence. After about 10 hours and more than a dozen fired rockets, Hamas declare to agree to the proposal of truce. From Teheran come immediately the compliments of Ahmadinejad (!?) and from Riyadh, King Abdullah promises to donate $1 billion to fix the damages caused by the fighting. European Leaders gather to discuss how they can help stop weapons smuggling, even if they are proving their proverbial inefficiency in Lebanon, where Hizb´allah already doubled its weapons arsenal since the last war against Israel. About EU is to note that it keeps on to consider Hizb´allah and Hamas a limited threat to the Middle-East area (particularly to Israel), somehow misunderstanding the real dimensions and operative capabilities of these terrorist movements… I think that now the current question is: why didn´t Israel completely wiped off Hamas? The main target of Jerusalem was primarily to implement a degree of deterrence that could stop the firing of rockets at the Israeli civilian population. Obviously the aim of the operation was to neutralize Hamas, let's hitting its structures (command headquarters, depots of arms, rocket launching ramps, smuggling tunnels). A plan to annihilate definitively the terrorist organization would have meant a real door-to-door issue (with consequently increase of civilian casualties due to the Hamas attitude to infiltrate into civilian structures using them as shield), which could have required an indefinite period of stay of the Israeli army in the Strip, thus contrary to the troops deployment budget and to the wish of the Israeli Government. Besides that, Gaza people should be able at this point to realize that the presence of Hamas, PIJ etc. in the Strip, will not help the achievement of the necessary stability, in order to resume seriously (along with the West Bank) negotiations with Israel, negotiations which Egypt strongly aims to get involved. It´s to remind that the last “Lull in the fighting” was primarily an Egyptian initiative, which was intended to last a long time, but foundered because of continued violations by Hamas and other active terrorist orgs in the Strip. Egypt is at pains to restore its influence in the Arab world and to ensure that the radical Islamic group, which is close to the MB and backed by an „every-day-more-dangerous-and-threatening“ Iran, will once again put its reputation at risk. The annihilation of Hamas remains thus an internal issue of the Arab world in general, and the Arab population of Gaza and West Bank in particular. The post-confrontation events in Gaza should suggest who is the real enemy in the Middle-East and what is at the origin of serious troubles that could become an uncontrollable threat in the near future.

It was necessary to act before

June 6th 2005: The Israeli Government decides to withdraw from the Gaza-Strip. The proposal comes by Ariel Sharon, at that time Prime Minister. It should have been a pragmatic step to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. After having burned the production infrastructures (greenhouses worth several million $ ) left intact by the Israelis farmers, the Palestinian people thought well to express their desire of peace promoting Hamas victory in the Elections of 2006. The terrorist organization will ensure the seizure of power in the Gaza-Strip after furious clashes with the rival Fatah. At the same time Hamas aims to monopolize the common ideal/slogan of all terrorist organizations operating in the area: "Death to Israel". About 1,000 rockets are launched at Israel in the same year and on 25 June 2006 a terrorist commando kidnaps the Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, in a cross border raid. In the meantime Hamas (or other orgs members) terrorists become "militant" and the gaza Hamas terror squads become "Hamas´ police". The World begins to believe that it is necessary to negotiate with Hamas and most of the Medias are the opinion that Israel should grants any request of the "main palestinian militian party". Suddenly, in 2007 from the Gaza-Strip (yes, just from there) comes a news: Hamas is heavily militarizing. Israel and Egypt decide to impose a blockade and prevent the weapons to be delivered into the area. End 2007 are reported about 1,700 terrorist attacks (rockets and mortar Shells) against Israel: Sderot, the most hurt city by he terrorist attacks is going to become a ghost-town. The stress which is subjected the population of the areas surrounding Gaza is immense. People doesn´t have time enough -in average 15 seconds- to income when the Qassam rockets are fired. Since 2001 over Israel are raining mortar shells and rockets. Suicide terrorist attacks have been prevented and hampered by the Security-Fence and the families are feeling safe again to go to a restaurant by bus...In 2008 the "Government of Gaza" claims that the food is over, there is no electricity and that the World has to act against Israel to lift the blockade. Strange press-conferences are taking place in Gaza Government offices. Some intrepid and honest journalists admit that the electricity lacked only in the buildings where the conferences were held, while outside everything was illuminated. Pictures illustrating well furnished gaza shops are beginning to be published, but with great caution. Once a friend told me: " It´s unbelievable! they are bullshitting the world but at the same time they are inspiring great sympathy!".
The Israeli Cabinet decide in 2008 to instruct the Rafael Co. to design an Iron Dome anti-rocket system that is probably going to be operational not before 2011. The tension is at the same level as the stress: very high. There are 2 issues Israel is concentrated to: Gilad Shalit and the weapons smuggling into Gaza-Strip. Hamas delivers news about the conditions it would free the young guy held captive since 2006 and takes into consideration a lull in the fighting proposed by Egypt. It doesn´t mean to be a truce, it won´t be a total suspension of every military/terrorist activity, including weapons smuggling and it can be violated at anytime, as already happened in the past. Egyptian Intelligence get heavily involved into the negotiations. Hamas demands the Gaza crossing opening on its terms, the immediate suspension of any Israeli-Security preventive operation in the West-Bank and begins to draw up a list of prison inmates to be freed in exchange for Gilad Shalit. The lull is to be considered by Hamas as a golden opportunity to accelerate its military buildup. The subsoil between Gaza-Strip and Egypt is like an "Emmenthal Cheese": the construction of tunnels proceeds quickly and some people in Gaza argues that it´s easier to buy a weapon than a coke.
The lull arrangement goes into effect on the morning of 19 June and it will bring initially a relative quite to the Western Negev population, at which are fired "only" 329 rockets and mortar shells*.On 17 July 2008, the bodies of Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser are returned to Israel, after an Israel-Hizb´allah prisoner swap. The two reservists were kidnapped in Israel by an Hizb´allah terrorist commando on 12 July 2006, circa two and half week after G. Shalit abduction. On 4 November 2004 the IDF foils an attempt by Hamas to kidnap Israeli soldiers along the Gaza border fence: seven terrorists are killed and Hamas, among with other terrorist organizations, attacks Israel with a massive barrage of rockets. Some of the attacks are carried out with weapons not previously used, such as 122mm Standard Grad and 120 mm mortar shells. Hamas exploited the time of the lull to improve its military buildup using every possible way (even the humanitarian goods shipments through the crossings) to smuggle big quantities of arms into the Gaza Strip. On 17 december the newspaper AlQuds-AlArabi published a statement of a spokesman of various terrorist organizations, indicting that a "joint operation room" among all "resistance forces" has been established, adding that the lull will officially end on 19 December 2008. On 24 December at least 60 rockets and mortar shells are fired at Ashqelon, Netivot, Sderot and several other urban areas, while Hamas spokemen threaten to wide the range of the attacks and to initiate suicide bombing terrorist missions*. Since 2001 the Western-Negev got hit by more than 10,000 rockets and mortar shells and since 2006 one of the most dangerous and cruel terrorist organizations existing in the World is bullshitting the World, spreading slogan such as: "dead to a free and democratic Country" and despite that it´s enjoying international recognitions. December 27th 2008: Israel start of the operation "Cast Lead". Probably 2 years too late.

Terror orgs and Finance-Connection

The Big Bang happened on 9/11/01, when 19 al-Qaida affiliated Islamic terrorists hijacked 4 commercial airliners. The story is well known: we witnessed an event, which was been until then considered “Unbelievable”. Three years later was the turn of Madrid and in 2005 London. This year the “Intercontinental Terror & Co. Inc“ thought well to target an Asian Country: India. Even on this occasion the strategists of terror based their plan exploiting a crucial factor: the timing.
Unlike the other elements (logistic, choice of the targets etc) a right timing can produce the greatest damage on a global level, causing indirect effects on a large scale.
To be mainly affected by the shock wave caused by such “terror attacks of the new generation”, -apart of the loss the lives- is the financial economy.
Since September 2001 a general climate of insecurity is gripping the financial markets, several long term investments have been frozen or diverted, the map of places where to invest has undergone significant changes. This of course facilitates the growth of wide ranged speculations, and it is in this area that terror orgs´ managers are able to interact effectively. Masking themselves behind the appearance of fervent religious observant, these “characters” in reality devote their attention to the evolution of financial markets
analysing the possible reactions to a given event in a certain place at any given circumstances. Examining the latest series of attacks, we may deduce that the primary objective of al-Qaida is to undermine relations between two countries, India and Pakistan. India is undergoing a fast economic growth while the second is on the way to inclusion in various sectors of the global economy. The theatre is Asia, a Continent where political and economical divergences could have unpredictable repercussions worldwide. A scenario that al Qaida & Co has already provided and will not hesitate to take once more advantage of its effects in order to finance future terror projects.

Mumbai, the Day after the hell. Who is behind that?

The day after India`s longest nightmare, still is not known which terror organization is responsible for the series of attacks carried out in Mumbai, a masterminded action that has transformed the heart of the Indian metropolis into a fire ball for 60 hours, leaving some 200 victims and over 350 injured
Heavy armament, grenades and a full-calculated tactic have allowed the terror commando (consisting of only 10 men) to launch the series of attacks with bestial savagery.
Initially it was thought to suspect of "Deccan Mujahideen", which would have issued a series of emails about one hour after the start of attacks.
The existence of "Deccan Mujahideen" is not never been confirmed, although it is not to rule out a link with the "Indian Mujahideen", authors of previous attacks in Uttar Pradesh (23.11.2007-serial blasts) Jaipur (13.05.2008-bombings) Bangalore (25.07.2008-serial blasts) Ahmedabad (26 July 2008-serial blasts) and Dehli (13 September 2008-serial blasts).
Formed back in 1977 under the name "SIMI" (Student`s Islamic Movement of India) "Indian Mujahideen" is an Islamic-radical terror organization, with strongly anti-Western believe.
Deeply influenced by the al-Qaida philosophy (to note that Osama Bin Laden is considered by ?IM" the highest expression of Mujahid). Is very likely that "SIMI" changed its name in "IM" when the Indian Government banned it for the third time, on 8 February 2006.
Strangely, the collision of "IM" with al-Qaida seems to have never been taken seriously into account by the officials of the Indian Ministry of Security.
The only terrorist arrested claimed to belong to another organization, the Pakistani-based -but in 1991 in Afghanistan founded- "Lashkar-e-Taiba", which entirely denied to be connected to the attacks in Mumbai.
"Lashkar-e-Taiba" runs numerous terror-training camps (which are also used by members of al-Qaida) and is among the most active terror organizations in South-Asia.
"Lashkar-e-Taiba" draws financial support from various factions of the International Muslim community, mostly from NGOs that hide their terrorist activities under the guise of charity.
Led by Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, this organization is characterized by a deep anti-Semitic and anti-Western thought and is strongly linked with al-Qaida.
Looking at the dynamism with which were made the Mumbai`s attacks and nature of the targets, is to exclude a priori that it was the work of low-ranking terrorists. According to sources in the Indian Ministry for Security, the terror-commando`s plan was just to cause maximum damage (arms and ammunition brought in by the terrorists were enough to kill around 5,000 people) and return with hostages protecting themselves.
A terror-group consisting of only 10 men, full-trained and perfectely armed to carry out a massacre that probably took months to be refined. A tactical plan that bring out how a relative small terror commando can paralize a 16 million people metropolis for 3 days.
The aim of the investigators should now be to investigate how deep al-Qaida & Co are able to infiltrate and tap the resources with which to plan their bestial terror attacks.
